Chinese Flat Knot is a great knot to use for jewelry such as bracelets or necklaces, It looks almost like a knit or weaved pattern when the knot is repeated on the same string, rope or twine over and over again.
Instructions:
- Place one piece of string in front of you horizontally.
- Place a second piece of string on top of the first piece, vertically, making an "X" shape.
- Bring the right side of the horizontal (first) piece of string towards the left side, bringing it over the vertical (second) piece of string. Pull it under the left side of the first piece of string. We will call this side A.
- Bring the left side of the horizontal (first) piece of string towards the right side, under side A. Pull this under the vertical (second) string and over the loop made by side A.
- Tighten both sides of the horizontal (first) piece of string.
- Continue adding knots onto the vertical piece of string with the horizontal piece until you have completed your project.
